Pettitte's Return Spoiled in Loss to Mariners

 Andy Pettitte pitched in his first major league game since 2010 today in the 6-2 loss to the Mariners. Pettitte came out of retirement in March to rejoin the Yankees.

Pettitte pitched 6 1/3 innings while alloying 5 runs on 7 hits. He struck out 2 and walked 3. Andy make two mistakes today that resulted in two home runs. Besides those home runs, Pettitte looked good in his first game back.

The Yankees offense couldn't get the job done against Kevin Millwood of the Mariners.

Russell Martin walked in a run in the 5th inning and Robinson Cano also walked in a run in the 8th inning. The Yankees left the bases loaded two times today. They were 0-5 in runners in scoring position and they left 6 on base. Derek Jeter grounded into his first two double plays of the year today.

The Yankees will travel to Baltimore and face the Orioles tomorrow.
