The Yankees ended their 3 game losing streak on Friday when they beat the Kansas City Royals 0-0. C.C. Sabathia started for the Yankees and was able to pick up his 4th win on the season.

Sabathia allowed 2 runs on 7 hits in 8 innings of work. He struck out 5 and walked 0.

The Yankees offense jumped on Bruce Chen early with 2 runs in the first, but they quickly lost the lead when the Royals scored 2 of their own in the bottom half of the 1st.

Mark Teixeira connected in the 1st inning with a 2 run shot.

The Yankees were tied in the 7th inning before a couple of two out hits gave them the lead. Robinson Cano started the inning with a single, but Andruw Jones lined out and Jayson Nix popped out. Eduardo Nunez stepped up to the plate and hit a RBI triple to right field to give the Yankees a 3-2 lead. Chris Stewart would then hit a single to left to plate Eduardo Nunez to make the score 4-2. The red hot Jeter would be the next batter and he would go on to hit a 2 run home run to left center field on a hanging curveball to give the Yankees a 6-2 lead.

That would be all the offense the Yankees would need to pick up the win.

David Robertson got the call to work the 9th inning. He struck out the side on 15 pitches. He was consistently blowing the fastball by people. His fastball clocked at 95-97 MPH.

The Yankees and the Royals will play Game 3 of 4 tomorrow at 7:05 ET.
