The Yankees fell to the Reds 5-2 in the finale of their 3 game set. C.C. Sabathia was lights out through 6 innings, but struggled in the 7th and that earned him the loss.

Sabathia allowed 3 runs on 6 hits in 7 innings pitched. He struck out 6 and walked 5. He allowed 2 home runs also.

The Yankee offense battled against the Reds starter, Johnny Cueto, but they couldn't get the job done. They were 1-4 with runners in scoring position and left 7 men on base.

Raul Ibanez connected for a 2 run shot in the 6th inning, but that wasn't enough to get the win.

The Reds scored 3 runs in the 7th inning off of C.C. Sabathia. He walked in Brand Phillips to give the Reds a 3-2 lead.

The Reds would then tack on 2 runs in the 9th inning to pad their lead to 5-2.

The Yankees look to turn things around tomorrow as they conclude their home stand tomorrow against the Kansas City Royals.
