Hiroki Kuroda's Gem Shuts Down White Sox

Hiroki Kuroda was able to help the Yankees defeat the White Sox 4-0 with his 11 strikeout gem on Saturday.

Kuroda allowed 0 runs on 3 hits in 7 innings of work. He struck out 11 and walked 1. Kuroda threw 107 pitches, in which 68 of them were for strikes. He was able to improve his record to 8-7 on the year.

Curtis Granderson got the Yankees on the board early with a solo home run to right field in the first inning, his 23rd on the season.

DeWayne Wise had a good ballgame today. He went 3-3 with a RBI double and a solo home run. Wise was a triple away from the cycle. Wise rocketed his second home run on the season into the second deck in right field.

Robinson Cano blasted his 19th home run in the sixth inning. He reached the second deck in right field as well.

David Robertson pitched a perfect eighth inning and Boone Logan pitched part of the ninth. Rafael Soriano relieved Boone Logan and closed the game in a non-save situation.

The Yankees and White Sox will play the finale tomorrow afternoon. The Yankees will celebrate Old Timers ' day before the game.
