Yankees HOPE Week: An Angel in Queens

The Yankees visited An Angel in Queens to celebrate Hope Week on Tuesday. Robinson Cano, Curtis Granderson, Hiroki Kuroda, and Boone Logan were the players that visited.

An Angel in Queens is a nonprofit organization started by Jorge Munoz that helps bring hot meals to the less fortunate. Every night at around 9:30 pm Jorge arrives at the intersection from his home in Woodhaven, driving his white pickup truck with enough home cooked meals to feed the dozens of day laborers who congregate there.

The Yankees donated rice and they helped Munoz cook. They also donated him $10,000 towards his organization.

Munoz cooks for over 100 people every day. He lost his job as a bus driver, but he still strides to feed people with the little money that he has.

"I feel great great when i see these guys with their smiling faces," Munoz said. "Because they got something to eat before they go to sleep."
