The Yankees were able to defeat the Texas Rangers 3-0 on Tuesday as they were given an outstanding start from Hiroki Kuroda, who lost his no hit bid in the seventh inning.

Kuroda allowed only 2 hits in  his complete game shutout. He struck out 5 batters and walked only 2. Kuroda was pitching a no-hitter through six innings, but allowed a leadoff infield single to Elvis Andrus in the seventh inning.

Nick Swisher opened the scoring in the seventh inning with his two-run shot to right center field on a 98 MPH fastball from Alexi Ogando. Mark Teixeira would follow with a solo shot to right field, which extended their lead to 3-0.

The Yankees and Rangers will continue their four game set tomorrow night.
