The Yankees were able to win their third consecutive game on Wednesday as they defeated the Rangers 3-2. This game was delayed one hour and forty-five minutes due to rain.

Freddy Garica started for the Yankees and he was solid. Garcia allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 6 2/3 innings of work. He struck out 6 and walked only 1. Garcia allowed two solo shots to Josh Hamilton, which accounted for Texas's only runs. Freddy Garcia was taken out of the game after throwing 100 pitches, in which 64 of them were for strikes.

The Yankee offense did their damage in the third inning when they were able to score three runs. Nick Swisher, Curtis Granderson, and Eric Chavez all drove in one run each in the inning, which proved to be enough to give the Yankees the win.

Rafael Soriano came on in the ninth inning and he shut the door to earn his 29th save of the season.

The Yankees and Rangers will conclude their four game set tomorrow afternoon.
