Orioles beat Yankees 3-2 in 10 to end 6-game skid

After defeating the Orioles in ten innings on Monday, the Yankees lost 3-2 in the ten inning to the Orioles on Tuesday. Nate McLouth sent the Orioles home happy with his solo shot off of Vidal Nuno. This is the first time this season that the Yankees have lost when scoring first.

Phil Hughes started for the Yankees and he gave them a chance to win. Hughes allowed two runs on five hits in six innings of work. He struck out five and walked two. He finished his outing with 102 pitches thrown, in which 70 of them were for strikes.

Travis Hafner drove in both of the Yankees runs tonight. He singled to right field in the first inning to drive in Brett Gardner, and singled in the fourth inning to score Vernon Wells.

The Yankees and Orioles will wrap up their three game series tomorrow night.
