The Yankees won yet another series on Saturday as they took the middle game of the three game series by a score of 7-2. The Yankees previously won the opener on Friday 5-0. With a little help from the offense  David Phelps picked up his second win of the season.

Phelps allowed one run on six hits in seven innings of work. He struck out eight and walked three. Phelps struggled early on with his fastball command, but seemed to find it towards the end of his outing. He finished his outing with 113 pitches, in which 66 of them were for strikes.

Robinson Cano powered the offense with his two home runs, which accounted for his four RBI's. The Yankees would get some help as homered as well.

The Yankees are now 18-0 when they score first, which is the best record out of every team.

The Yankees and Blue Jays will conclude their three game series tomorrow afternoon.

Yankees acquire Reid Brignac

Jon Heyman of CBS Sports has reported that the Yankees have acquired infielder Reid Brignac from the Colorado Rockies. In return, the Rockies received cash considerations.

Brignac, 27, was designated for assignment by the Rockies on Thursday after being acquired by them at the beginning of the season. He batted .250 with one home run and six runs batted in throughout 29 games.

In order to make room for Brignac, the Yankees have designated Alberto Gonzalez for assignment.
