Andy Pettitte pitched in his fourth minor league start tonight for Double-A Trenton. He threw 81 pitches, the most he's thrown in an outing so far.
According to Brian Cashman, the general manager of the Yankees, Andy is just 2-3 starts away from being back in the big leagues.
Pettitte allowed 4 runs, 3 earned runs, in 5 innings of work. He gave up 7 hits and struck out 3. He walked 1 batter also. He threw 81 pitches, 59 of them for strikes.
Andy will likely make a start Sunday or Monday of next week.
The Yankees could use another starter in their rotation, with Freddy Garcia and Phil Hughes struggling.
