C.C. Sabathia took the mound Sunday afternoon looking to secure his 3rd win of the season, and did just that. Sabathia shut down the Tigers Sunday by limiting them to just 2 runs and 4 hits. He struck out 8 and walked 2.
The Yankees' offense back Sabathia by scoring 6 runs. Alex Rodriguez drove in 2 runs to secure 9th place on the all-time RBI list. He passed Willie Mays in doing so.
Curtis Granderson had a home run as well as Andrus Jones, who came into the game after Nick Swisher exited with a hamstring injury.
Derek Jeter, Robinson Cano, Eric Chavez, and Andruw Jones all had a multi-hit game.
The Yankees and Orioles will begin a 3 game set tomorrow.
