Brett Gardner has experienced soreness in his injured right elbow again, a day after he participated in a simulated game. Gardner has only played 9 games this season for the Yankees.
Before last night's game, it was revealed that Gardner would be shut down after experiencing elbow soreness. This is the third time that Gardner has been shut down.
"He came up a little bit sore today, so he's not playing today," Joe Girardi said. "We'll see how he feels tomorrow and we'll go from there. It's a concern because it happened before. Hopefully he can just get through this and continue to play, but we'll have to wait and see."
With the trade deadline approaching, the Yankees could scoop up an average outfielder to replace Gardner.
