Ivan Nova's recent struggles continued on Tuesday as the Yankees were defeated by the White Sox 7-3.

Nova allowed 6 runs on 7 hits in 6 innings of work. He struck out 3 and walked 2. Nova exited with 84 pitches thrown, in which 53 of them were for strikes.

The Yankee offense started with a bang as Derek Jeter hit a home run on the very first pitch of the game. It was Jeter's 12th home run of the season. The Yankees would go on to score once more in the first inning on a Curtis Granderson force out which scored Nick Swisher. Russell Martin would homer in the seventh inning which would be the last time they would score.

Derek Lowe came on in relief and allowed 1 run on 5 hits in 2 innings of work. He struck out 2 and walked only 1 batter.

The Yankees and White Sox will conclude their three game set tomorrow night.
