The Yankees were able to defeat the Tigers on Wednesday as they defeated them 12-8. C.C. Sabathia was able to pick up his 12th win and snap the Yankees two game slide.

Sabathia allowed 5 runs on 8 hits in 6 2/3 innings of work. He struck out 7 and walked 1. Sabathia was taken out in the seventh inning with only 94 pitches thrown, in which 67 of them were for strikes.

David Robertson came on to relieve Sabathia and he struggled quite a bit. He allowed 3 runs on 5 hits in 1 inning of work. He struck out 1 and did not walk any.

The Yankees were able to get on the board early as they score two in the first. They would later score three in the third, two in the fourth, one in the seventh, two in the eighth, and two in the ninth. The Yankees once had a 7-0 lead, but the Tigers would battle back to make the game closer than it should have been.

Rafael Soriano came on in the ninth inning and pitched a scoreless inning. It wasn't a save opportunity, but he was able to get some work in.

The Yankees and Tigers will conclude their four game set tomorrow.
