The Yankees were unable to pick up consecutive victories against the Orioles as they were defeated 3-2 on Monday.

Andy Pettitte started for the Yankees and he was solid. Pettitte allowed 3 runs on 7 hits in 7 innings of work. He struck out 5 and walked only 1 batter. Pettitte finished his outing with 98 pitches thrown, in which 64 of them were for strikes.

The Yankee offense failed to back their starter up as they were 2-for-8 with runners in scoring position and left 10 men on.

Derek Jeter and Robinson Cano drove in their only two runs of the game.

The Yankees had a bunch of missed opportunities such as bases-loaded with one out in the fourth inning. Eduado Nunez would pop-out to shortstop and then Derek Jeter would ground out to third base.

The Yankees will travel to New York and play Game 3 on Wednesday.
