The Yankees were quick to pick up Lyle Overbay on Tuesday as he was released by the Red Sox just a few days before Opening Day.
Overbay, 36, was signed to a minor league contract by the Yankees and will hope to break camp with the Yankees.
Lyle Overbay will essentially have a three day tryout as spring training will be over for the Yankees on Friday. He will have a legitimate shot as being the everyday first basemen for the Yankees.
