Eduardo Nunez exits game in the third inning

Update 8:33 pm ET - 4/12: Eduardo Nunez's X-rays came back negative and has been diagnosed with a bruised wrist. His status is likely day-to-day.

Eduardo Nunez has left Friday night's game after being hit by a pitch on the right wrist by starter Miguel Gonzalez.

Nunez, who just recovered from being hit in the biceps, fell to the ground in pain. Manager Joe Girardi and trainer Steve Donahue rushed out to check on their young shortstop.

Eduardo Nunez would stay in the game to run, but would not return to the field at the beginning the third inning. After attempting to throw across the field, he voluntarily took himself out of the game.

There has been no update on his condition at this time.
