For a fifth consecutive game, the Yankees have been in the middle of the infield shaking hands as they increased their win streak to five with their 4-2 win over the Royals. Vernon Wells and Robinson Cano supported Hiroki Kuroda with two RBI's each in the win over the Royals. Kuroda defeated the Royals for the first time in his career today and with it, he picked up his fifth win of the season.

Hiroki Kuroda allowed two runs on six hits in seven and two thirds innings of work. He struck out one and walked only one. He completed his start with 98 pitches thrown and 66 of them were for strikes.

Robinson Cano and Vernon Wells kept the Yankee offense going today with their pair of runs batted in. Cano collected two hits, while Wells collected three hits.

Mariano Rivera locked down the win and notched his 15th save of the season.
