The Yankees were unable to stretch their win streak to five games as they were defeated 4-1 by the Mariners. The Yankee offense was unable to get anything going tonight as they scored only one run on four hits. Hiroki Kuroda took the loss for the Yankees, even though he didn't pitch that bad.

Kuroda allowed four runs on eight hits in six and a third innings of work. He struck out three but issued three free passes. He finished his outing with 110 pitches thrown, in which 69 of them were for strikes.

The Yankees lone run came in the first inning when Travis Hafner drove in Brett Gardner on a groundout to second base.

The Yankees and Mariners will continue their four-game series tomorrow.
