Joba Chamberlain entered the game in the seventh inning and gave those two runs back. The Yankees would answer in the bottom half of the seventh inning with two more runs to make it a 6-5 game.
The Rangers would pad their lead in the ninth inning with two runs to make it a 8-5 game.
The Yankees could not answer in the bottom half of the ninth inning as they were retired in order by Joe Nathan.
