With the thought of taking a complete game loss looming in his head, Ivan Nova watched the Yankee offense come alive in the ninth inning against Orioles closer, Jim Johnson. Ivan Nova pitched an outstanding game tonight as he pitched his first complete game and also picked up the win.

The Yankee offense came alive in the ninth inning when they scored two runs to defeat the Orioles.

Travis Hafner worked a bases-loaded walk to tie the game at two in the ninth inning.

Vernon Wells was  next and he singled to left field through the drawn in infield to give the Yankees the win.

Luis Cruz drove in the Yankees first run in the fourth inning, which made it a 2-1 game.
