The Yankees were unable to give C.C. Sabathia in his complete game effort tonight as they were defeated 3-1 by the Royals.

C.C. Sabathia allowed three runs on seven hits in nine innings of work. He struck out six and walked two batters. He finished his outing with 102 pitches thrown, in which 64 of them were for strikes.

The Yankee offense was silent tonight as they scored only one run on six hits. Their lone run came in the first inning on a Robinson Cano RBI single. The Yankees would not score again in the game.

The Yankees and Royals will continue their four-game set tomorrow.
