The Yankees were unable to take the three-game series against the Red Sox on Sunday as they were defeated 8-7 in eleven innings.
C.C. Sabathia started for the Yankees and he had a very pour outing. Sabathia allowed seven runs on nine hits in five innings of work. He struck out five and walked two batters. He finished his outing with 102 pitches thrown, in which 72 of them were for strikes.
The Yankee offense was able to muster out seven runs on thirteen hits, but unfortunately suffered the loss tonight.
The Yankees will begin a four-game set tomorrow with the Texas Rangers in Arlington.
