The Yankees lost to the Reds today by a score of 6-5. The Yankee offense continued to struggle throughout the game and Ivan Nova took his second consecutive loss.

Ivan Nova looked sharp coming out of the gate, but a few pitches turned his start bad. Nova allowed 5 runs on 7 hits in 6 innings. He struck out 12 and walked 2. He allowed a huge 3 run home run to Joey Votto in the 5th inning.

The Yankee offense was 2 for 7 with runner in scoring position today.

The Yankees started a rally in the 9th inning by scoring 2 runs to cut their deficit to 1, but Curtis Granderson grounded out to 1st base with runners at 2nd and 3rd.

This series will conclude tomorrow with C.C. Sabathia against Johnny Cueto.
