Alex Rodriguez has tied Jimmie Fox for 6th all-time when he drove in his 1,924th RBI in the third inning of Friday night's game.

Rodriguez lined the first pitch off of the lefty, Gio Gonzalez, for a single to right field that scored Derek Jeter.

Alex Rodriguez has driven in 30 RBI's this season in 61 games played.

David Robertson Activated; Phelps Demoted


David Robertson has been activated from the 15-day disabled list Thursday and is expected to be ready for the series opener against the Nationals on Friday.

Robertson has been out since May 14th with a right oblique strain.

David Phelps has been sent down to Class A Tampa. Phelps has appeared in 13 games for the Bombers and has posted a 2.94 ERA in 33.2 innings pitched.

Brett Gardner Injury Update

The Yankees have announced that Brett Gardner has been diagnosed with a left elbow muscle strain, as well as a bone bruise and joint inflammation that has not fully healed.

Brett has been given a Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and a cortisone shot. He will rest his elbow for 3-4 weeks and he will also have a brace on.

Gardner has been on the disabled list since April 18th and has only played 9 games this season.
