The Yankees were defeated by the Chicago White Sox 14-7 on Friday night. The White Sox were able to knock the rookie, Adam Warren, out of the game early. The Yankee offense tried to battle back, but they could not keep up with the White Sox's offense.

Adam Warren lasted only 2 1/3 innings in which he allowed 6 runs on 8 hits. He struck out 2 and walked 2. Warren also allowed 2 home runs. He exited the game with 77 pitches, 47 of them were for strikes.

The Yankee offense scored four runs in the first, two in the fourth, and one in the seventh.

Derek Jeter led the game off with a double down the left field line. With that double, he has passed Cal Ripken Jr. on the All-Time hits list.

David Phelps, Clay Rapada, and Cory Wade all were used from the bullpen.

DeWayne Wise was asked to come on in the ninth inning to record two outs, which he successful did without allowing a hit or run.

The Yankees and White Sox will play game 3 of 4 tomorrow in the Bronx.

David Aardsma Shut Down with Pain in Right Elbow

David Aardsma was shut down on Friday after he felt pain in his surgically repaired right elbow.

Aardsma has been rehabbing from Tommy John Surgery and was hoping to return to the big leagues in July. With this setback, July is very unlikely as he will have to start his rehab process over again.

David Aardsma has allowed one unearned run in five minor league rehab innings earlier this month. The Yankees still expect Aardsma back this season, but instead of July they are hoping around August.

Derek Jeter Passes Cal Ripken Jr. on All-Time Hits List

With his leadoff double down the left field line Friday night, Derek Jeter has passed Cal Ripken Jr. on the All-Time hits list with 3,185 career hits. Jeter now has sole possession of 13th place.

Jeter ripped a 1-0 pitch down the left field line for a double to start off the game. Granderson would be after him and he would drive Jeter in with a 2-run shot to right field.

Derek Jeter now needs 58 hits to tie Nap Lajoie for 12th place on the All-Time hits list.
