Nick Swisher MRI Results

The Yankees took a precautionary MRI on Nick Swisher's left hip and it came back just as the hoped. The MRI showed that Swisher does indeed have a mild hip flexor strain. The Yankees have announced that he will sit out the remainder of the Oakland series and possibly the Seattle series as well.

Swisher suffered the injury while trying to beat out a ground ball to third base in Friday night's game. He would exit the game in the seventh inning.

Nick Swisher could be back on the field by the conclusion of the Seattle Series or the opener against the Boston Red Sox at Yankee Stadium on July 27th. The Yankees also have an off day on the 26th, which could buy Swisher some extra time.
