Trade Rumors: Victorino, Span, and Upton

The Yankees have reportedly called the Phillies, Twins, and Diamondbacks about acquiring an outfielder due to the recent loss of Brett Gardner. There has been much speculation that the Yankees would indeed acquire an outfielder to fill in Gardners position in left field.

Rumors have swirled around possible accusations of Shane Victorino of the Phillies, Denard Span of the Twins, or Justin Upton of the Diamondbacks.

Shane Victorino has been the main discussion lately about who the Yankees could acquire. Victorino will be a free agent at the end of the season and the Phillies could give him up if they do not want to sign him during the offseason.

Insiders have heard that the Yankees called the Twins recently about Denard Span, but they were asking for a ton, which the Yankees probably will not give up.

Justin Upton has been struggling as of late, so the Diamondbacks might just test the trade market and see if they could get anything that could benefit them this season or beyond.

Eduardo Nunez Activated from Minor League Disabled List

Eduardo Nunez, who has been sidelined for two months with a thumb injury, has been activated from the minor league disabled list after playing three Gulf Coast rehab games.

Nunez was optioned to Triple-A by the Yankees in mid-May. He played just four games in the minors before injuring his thumb.

The Yankees announced today that Nunez has been activated from the disabled list and that his option has been switched to Tampa. He will most likely play a few games while being watched by the Yankees staff at the minor league complex. There has been no word as far as if he will return to the Bronx anytime soon.
