Yanks' Place C.C. Sabathia on the Disabled List

The Yankees have announced that they have placed C.C. Sabathia on the 15-day disabled list with soreness in his left elbow. Sabathia first felt the soreness last week after his start against the Mariners.

Two days after Sabathia's start against the Mariners, he underwent an MRI which was clean. Sabathia also said that he felt soreness after his start against the Tigers in Detroit.

"As for our concern, it's pretty low level," Girardi said. "We want to wipe it out."

With Sabathia going on the disabled list, the Yankees have announced that right-hander Ryota Igarashi has been called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre
