Updates: Nova, Pettitte, Teixeira

Joe Girardi and some Yankee players have released some information about their on-going injuries.

  • Ivan Nova threw around 20 pitches today in his simulated game today. Nova will likely be back with the team once his stint on the disabled list is up. The team will check in with Nova tomorrow to see how his arm feels.
  • Andy Pettitte will throw against live hitters tomorrow for the first time.
  • Both Nova and Pettitte will likely get their work in through simulated games and will not pitch in the minor leagues.
  • Mark Teixeira has been jogging on his injured left calf and said a return this Thursday is possible, but unlikely. Teixeira made it clear that a weekend return in more likely.
