The Yankees were able to complete their sweep of the Blue Jays on Thursday as they defeated them 10-7. Phil Hughes was able to pick up his team-leading 16th win.

Hughes allowed 4 runs on 4 hits in 5 innings of work. He struck out 9 batters and walked only 3. Hughes threw 102 pitches, in which 62 of them were for strikes.

The Yankee offense did it's work in the fourth inning when they scored seven runs. Nick Swisher capped the inning off with a grand slam to give the Yankees a 8-2 lead.

David Robertson came on in the ninth a shut down the Blue Jays to notch the victory.

The Yankees will begin a three game set with the Athletics tomorrow.

The Yankees were able to defeat the Blue Jays 2-1 in the nightcap of the double header with the help of Ichiro's go-ahead RBI single in the eighth inning. Ichiro finished the double header with 7 hits in 8 at-bats.

David Phelps started for the Yankees and he was solid. Phelps allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 6 2/3 innings of work. He struck out 6 and walked 3 batters. Phelps finished his night with 110 pitches thrown, in which 65 of them were for strikes.

The Yankee bullpen was solid for the second time today as they held the Blue Jays hitless in 2 innings of work.

Chris Stewart and Ichiro Suzuki drove in the only two runs that the Yankees would score.

Rafael Soriano came on in the ninth and shut the door for the second time today to notch his 42nd save of his season.
