The Yankees were able to salvage the final game of their four game set on Sunday after they defeat the Blue Jays 9-6. The Yankees were down 5-1 at one point, but came all the way back to win the game.

Phil Hughes started for the Yankees and he departed quickly. Hughes allowed 5 runs on 8 hits in 4 2/3 innings of work. He struck out 4 and walked 2. He exited the game after throwing 93 pitches, in which 60 of them were for strikes.

The Yankee offense came alive in the later innings as they scored 7 runs in the seventh inning and beyond. They had a big seventh inning when they scored three runs to tie the game at 5. The Yankees would later take the lead in the eighth inning when Eduardo Nunez would hit a sacrifice fly to score Curtis Granderson. They would take one more on in the inning on a Derek Jeter RBI single. Curtis Granderson would give the Yankees some insurance in the ninth inning when he drilled a two-run single to increase their lead to 9-5.

Rafael Soriano would come on in the ninth to get some work in. He would allowed 1 run on 1 hit.

The Yankees will return home and will begin a three game set with the Red Sox to conclude their regular season.
