The Yankees took two-out-of-three against the Blue Jays in their three game set as they defeated them 6-4 today behind ace, C.C. Sabathia.

Sabathia looked much better than he did in Houston, and if it wasn't for his rocky sixth inning, then this outing would have been a very quality start.

The Yankee offense came out swinging today as they scored three early runs before Sabathia even threw a pitch.

Brett Gardner hit the Yankees first home run of the 2014 season with his two-run shot down the right field line in the fourth inning.

David Robertson came on to pitch the 9th inning and shut down the Blue Jays to collect his second save of the young season.

The Yankees will travel to New York for the first time this season to play their home opener at Yankee Stadium.

Derek Jeter passes Paul Molitor for 8th place on all-time hits list

Derek Jetet has tied and passed Paul Molitor for 8th place on the all-time hits list with two hits today against the Blue Jays.

With his two singles so far, he is up to 3,320 hits and next on the list is Carl Yastrzemski with 3,420.

The Yankees were unable to stretch their win streak to three games as they were defeated by the Blue Jays 4-0.

Michael Pineda made his first official start of his Yankee career today and he pitched very well. Despite taking the loss, he had a lot of velocity on his fastball and his pitches moved well. He allowed only one earned run in his outing also.

The Yankee offense was silent as they couldn't even score a run in the game. They had their chances, but failed to capitalize. This Yankee offense is promising, but some days they just cannot get it done.

The Yankees and Blue Jays will complete their three-game set tomorrow.
