The Yankees opened up Yankee Stadium for the first time in 2014 today and presented it with a 4-2 win over the Baltimore Orioles.

Hiroki Kuroda started for the Yankees and he pitched very well to pick up his first win of the season. Kuroda located his pitches and kept them down in the zone throughout the game. He got himself into some trouble in the seventh inning, but Matt Thorton and David Phelps came on to clean up the mess.

The Yankee offense was effective today. As a team they scored four runs on eight hits. Jacoby Ellsbury, Kelly Johnson, and Yangervis Solarte all contributed with RBI's in the win. Derek Jeter grounded into a double play to score Solarte in the third inning.

Shawn Kelley picked up the save today due to David Robertson's groin injury.

The Yankees and Orioles will continue their three game set with another afternoon game tomorrow.

The Yankees took two-out-of-three against the Blue Jays in their three game set as they defeated them 6-4 today behind ace, C.C. Sabathia.

Sabathia looked much better than he did in Houston, and if it wasn't for his rocky sixth inning, then this outing would have been a very quality start.

The Yankee offense came out swinging today as they scored three early runs before Sabathia even threw a pitch.

Brett Gardner hit the Yankees first home run of the 2014 season with his two-run shot down the right field line in the fourth inning.

David Robertson came on to pitch the 9th inning and shut down the Blue Jays to collect his second save of the young season.

The Yankees will travel to New York for the first time this season to play their home opener at Yankee Stadium.

Derek Jeter passes Paul Molitor for 8th place on all-time hits list

Derek Jetet has tied and passed Paul Molitor for 8th place on the all-time hits list with two hits today against the Blue Jays.

With his two singles so far, he is up to 3,320 hits and next on the list is Carl Yastrzemski with 3,420.
