The Yankees have been eliminated by the Tigers on Thursday as they were defeated 8-1. C.C. Sabathia was unable to avoid the sweep as he struggled in his outing.

Sabathia allowed 6 runs, 5 earned, on 11 hits in 3.2 innings of work. He struck out 2 and walked 3. Sabathia finished his outing with 93 pitches thrown, in which 59 of them were for strikes.

The Yankee offense was silent again as they could only score 1 run. Nick Swisher drove in Eduardo Nunez in the sixth inning with his double.

The Yankees will now look forward to the off season to make changes to their team.

The Yankees are still win less in the American League Championship Series as the Tigers defeated them 2-1 on Tuesday to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the series.

Phil Hughes started for the Yankees and he departed early due to lower back stiffness. Hughes allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 3 innings of work. He struck out 1 and walked 3. Hughes finished his outing with 61 pitches thrown, in which 36 of them were for strikes.

The Yankee bullpen was outstanding once again as the allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 5 innings of work.

The Yankee offense continued to struggle as their only run came from an Eduardo Nunez solo shot in the ninth inning.

The Yankees will look to avoid the four game sweep tomorrow as they look to get back on track.

The Yankees were unable to defeat the Tigers on Sunday as they were blanked 3-0. The Yankeeso ffense continued to struggle as they were only able to collect four hits.

Hiroki Kuroda started for the Yankees and he was oustanding. Kuroda allowed 3 runs on 5 hits in 7 2/3 innings of work. He struck out 11 batters and did not issue a free pass. Kuroda began the night by striking out five batters out of the first six. Kuroda finished his outing with 103 pitches thrown, in which 69 of them were for strikes.

The Yankee bullpen struggled a bit tonight as Boone Logan, Joba Chamberlain, and Clay Rapada could not record an out. Cody Eppley worked 1 1/3 innings of one hit ball. He struck out 2 and did not walk any.

The Yankee offense continued to struggle as they could not muster any runs tonight. As a team, they were able to collect four hits and were 0-for-5 with runners on scoring position. In addition to that poor number, they stranded seven runners on base.

The Yankees will travel to Detroit and will play Game 3 on Tuesday.
