Yankees bullpen can't hold lead late against Rays

The Yankees were unable to hold a late lead against the Rays on Friday as they were defeated 11-5 in what seemed like another win for the bombers.

After jumping out to an early 4-0 start, the Rays kept chipping away before taking a 6-5 lead in the seventh inning. In the very next inning, the Rays put up a crooked five spot in the bottom of the eighth inning. From that point on, the game was out of reach for the Yankees.

Hiroki Kuroda pitched well for the Yankees but picked up the no decision.

The Yankees and Rays will continue their four-game set tomorrow.

Sabathia, Yanks' beat Price in opener

The Yankees were able to defeat the Rays 10-2 in the battle of the ace's game, which featured the Yankees C.C. Sabathia and the Rays David Price.

Sabathia clearly out pitched Price, who struggled all night long. From the first batter of the game, it felt like it would go the Yankees way tonight as Jacoby Ellsbury hit a high chopper to first base for a single.

The Yankee offense poured it after home runs from Soriano, McCann, and Solarte. The Yankees collected 16 hits in the game.

The Yankees and Rays will continue their four game set tomorrow night.
