David Robertson declines qualifying offer

This comes as little surprise but David Roberston has declined the teams $15.3 million qualifying offer.

It remains to be seen if the Yankees and Robertson can come to terms on a long term deal, but if Robertson signs elsewhere then the Yankees will receive a compensation draft pick.

Yankees resign OF Chris Young

Many outlets are reporting that the Yankees and Chris Young have reached an agreement on a one year deal, $2.5MM deal. The Yankees acquired Chris Young after he was released by the Mets late in the 2014 season.

Young, 31, will likely be one of the Yankees platoon outfielders as he joins Brett Gardner, Jacoby Ellsbury, and Carlos Beltran.

In only 79 plate appearances with the Yankees last season, Young posted a .289/.354/.521, which was an improvement after what he had done with the Mets.

Derek Jeter's final All-Star Game

Derek Jeter will participate in his final All-Star Game of his career tomorrow.

Jeter is penciled in at shortstop in leading off in his 14th and final All-Star Game.

The All-Star Game takes place on Tuesday, July 15th at 8:00 PM ET on FOX.

Yankees bullpen can't hold lead late against Rays

The Yankees were unable to hold a late lead against the Rays on Friday as they were defeated 11-5 in what seemed like another win for the bombers.

After jumping out to an early 4-0 start, the Rays kept chipping away before taking a 6-5 lead in the seventh inning. In the very next inning, the Rays put up a crooked five spot in the bottom of the eighth inning. From that point on, the game was out of reach for the Yankees.

Hiroki Kuroda pitched well for the Yankees but picked up the no decision.

The Yankees and Rays will continue their four-game set tomorrow.
