Yankees sign Brian Gordon to a minor-league deal

The Yankees have made a minor move today as they signed Brian Gordon to a minor league deal.

Gordon was a Yankee in 2011 and made two spot-starts for the team. Since then he has became a relief pitcher, something the Yankees desperately need. It is unclear if he has recieved an invite to Spring Training, but it sure would seem like it.

He spent last year with the Athletics organization at the Triple-A level and posted impressive numbers. He ended the season with a 3.57 ERA with 9.43 strikeouts per nine innings and 1.29 walks per nine innings. This is a guy that defiantly can help the Yankees in 2014.
