The Yankees' would build a rally in the 7th inning. Nick Swisher came up with the bases loaded and hit an opposite field grand slam over the green monster. The Yankees' cut the lead to 9-5. After a double by Robinson Cano and a Mile Aviles error to allow Alex Rodriguez to reach base safely, Mark Teixeira stepped up to the plate and cranked a 3-run home run over the green monster. The Yankees trailed by 1. The Yankees' scored 7 runs in the 7th, but they were not done just yet.

Rafael Soriano came on to pitch the bottom of the 7th inning. He worked out of a lead off double by Jarrod Saltalamacchia to hold the Red Sox to a 1 run lead going into the 8th inning.

The Yankees' would start the top of the 8th inning off with a single by Eduardo Nunez. Derek Jeter worked a walked and then Nick Swisher gave the Yankees' the lead with a 2-run double to straight away center field. The Yankees' took the lead 10-9. The Yankees' came all the way back from a 9-0 deficit to stun the Red Sox and their fans.

Freddy Garcia was once the main topic of this game, but he quickly moved into the forgotten column.

The Yankees and Red Sox finish this 3 game set tonight when C.C. Sabathia takes the mound. Rain is in the forecast for the game.
