The Yankees have extended their win streak to 6 games with a 3-2 victory over the Braves Wednesday night.

Hiroki Kuroda picked up the victory tonight as he only allowed 2 runs, on 9 hits in 6 innings of work. He struck out 8 and walked 2. Kuroda consistently worked out of jams throughout the game. The only mistake was a fastball to Brian McCann that was hit for a 2-run home run to right field.

The bullpen came on and worked 3 scoreless innings. Boone Logan, Cody Eppley, and all pitched well and held the braves to just 3 hits.

Cody Eppley escaped a jam in the 8th inning to hold the lead. The Braves had runners on 1st and 3rd and Eppley was able to get Martin Prado to hit a ground ball to Jeter to start the 6-4-3 double play.

The Yankee offense was able to get to the Braves starter, Tim Hudson, early on. Derek Jeter doubled to right center field on the first pitch of the ball game. Curtis Granderson moved him over to third with a ground ball to second base. Alex Rodriguez would come through after a big night last night with the RBI single to center field.

After surrendering the lead to a Brian McCann home run in the 5th inning, Curtis Granderson would hit a 2-run shot to right to give the Yankees a 3-2 lead in the 6th inning.

Rafael Soriano came on in the 9th to pick up his 11th save of the season.

The Yankees will enjoy an off day tomorrow and will start a 3 game set with the Nationals are Friday.

The Yankees offense was silent against Mike Minor, the Braves starter. Minor limited them to just 5 hits before he was relieved after 7 1/3 innings.

Jonny Venters relieved Minor and the Yankees jumped on him. Venters allowed 4 runs on 3 hits and walked 1.

Alex Rodriguez hit a game tying gram slam off of Venters in the 8th inning after he walked Mark Teixeira to load the bases. That grand slam was Alex's 23rd of his career, which puts him in a first place tie with Lou Gehrig on the all-time grand slam list.

Nick Swisher would come up after Robinson Cano singled to ceter field. Swisher would send his 10th home run over the right field wall to give the Yankees the 6-4 lead in the 8th inning.

The bullpen would come on and work 2 scoreless innings to secure the Yankee win.

Rafael Soriano came on in the 9th and secured his 10th save of the season. He did not pitch in Monday's game due to a blister on his finger. Soriano blew his last save opportunity against the Mets on Sunday. The Yankees would go on to win that game by a Russell Martin walk-off home run.
