The Yankees were able to defeat the Indians in the series finale on Sunday by the score of 4-2.

Freddy Garcia started for the Yankees and he was sharp until the fifth inning. Garcia allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 4 2/3 innings of work. He struck out 6 batters but walked 2. Garcia finished with 90 pitches, in which 53 of them were for strikes. Freddy was unable to complete the fifth inning in his last two starts.

Boone Logan relived Freddy Garcia and he picked up the win.

Curtis Granderson launched his 200th home run of his career and his 33rd of the season. Derek Jeter, Nick Swisher, and Ichiro Suzuki all drove in one run in the win.

Rafael Soriano came on in the ninth inning and shut the door to notch his 33rd save of the season.

The Yankees will travel back home and take on the Blue Jays tomorrow.

Curtis Granderson Hits His 200th Career Home Run

With him solo home run on Sunday against the Indians, Curtis Granderson joins seven other teammates that have also accomplished this milestone. Alex Rodriguez, Andruw Jones, Mark Teixeira, Nick Swisher, Raul Ibanez, Derek Jeter, and Eric Chavez all have 200 or more home runs and now Curtis Granderson gets to be added to that list.

Granderson hit a towering fly ball to right field that just cleared the fence which accounted for his 200th big fly of his career. He now has 33 home runs on the season.

The Yankees were unable to defeat the Indians on Saturday as they were defeated 3-1 in a game where their offense would not produce any runs.

Hiroki Kuroda started for the Yankees and he pitched well. Kuroda allowed 3 runs on 4 hits in 8 innings of work. He struck out 6 and walked 2 batters. Kuroda finished the game with 108 pitches thrown, in which 68 of them were for strikes.

The Yankee offense struggled tonight. They were 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position and they stranded the bases loaded twice tonight. The Yankees had their opportunities to score, but were unable to come through.

The Yankees and Indians will conclude their three game set tomorrow.
